Favourite thing to do in my job: Live demonstrations of Method of Levels Therapy
My biggest interests are my two young sons, comedies, 80s synth music and wildlife
I live outside Manchester with my wife and two young boys. We used to have two pet rats, but now one goldfish is a handful! I love all kinds of food, TV, film (any movie with Paul Rudd) & music, but my favourite bands at the moment are The Slow Readers Club and White Lies. Not a patch on Depeche Mode and Gary Numan though! The main films I watch these days are the one’s my sons watch, but they’ve become favourites of mine – The Lego Movie, Lego Batman, Zootropolis, and any of the new Dangermouse episodes. Though, on the darker side, Donnie Darko is my favourite movie.
I use a scientific theory of control to make a real impact on diverse areas such as mental health, skill learning, coping with dementia, and robotics
My Typical Day
Porridge - DangerMouse - Drive - Cycle - Email - Tweet - Lecture - Write - Train Professionals - Meet Students - Cycle - Drive - Curry & Beer - Nightime Stories - Unwind!
What I'd do with the prize money
My updated plan is to use the £500 for NatureMind, a network I have set up to bring people together to understand better how engaging with nature in childhood can improve well being and mental health.
My updated plan is to use the £500 for NatureMind, a network I have set up to bring people together to understand better how engaging with nature in childhood can improve well being and mental health. The money would allow us to meet at a local school, round a campfire, and listen to pupils, parents and teachers about what our network should do to best help children. We can toast some marshmallows and climb trees too!
