      Good question!
There are more than 200 species in squirrel family. Because squirrels have more or less similar physical characteristics (e.g. good at sense of smell, use teeth, nose and front paws to play objects etc), we can take this as an advantage when designing an experiment – so that any two or more species will experience the same task when we understand how one species differs from another in IQ.
