  Haha, my answer may be a bit boring but, but, it is an important step to build the complete story to understand the evolution of cognition – I think I will work with chimps, toddlers or birds like crows or parrots. The main reason is there is a decent amount of research in these animals, which I can adopt their design to squirrels when accessing their IQ. The similarities between designs allow me to obtain a comparative angle between any two or more animals; this will benefit for the understanding whether any two or more species share similar or different thinking patterns.
