Hi do the YMCA (cool name). As a sleep researcher I get asked by people about the best way to sleep all the time. However I am always cautious about giving out specific advice because the amount, type and way to sleep the best can vary a huge amount between different people. I personally enjoy a good snooze on my back or, sometimes when it is cold, I do a maneuver I call the ‘blanket burrito’. This is where I wrap myself up in blankets like an Egyptian mummy or a very well insulated sausage. This sends me right off 🙂 This might only work for me though! While you are experimenting yourself for the best sleep position there are other things you can do to help you get some good shut eye. There is something called ‘sleep hygine’ which I recommend following. You can find out more about sleep hygiene from the NHS here (https://www.nhs.uk/live-well/sleep-and-tiredness/how-to-get-to-sleep/). Happy sleeping!
