  Lego is a great hobby, and I have used it to build examples of psychology experiments and our equipment to explain things to our younger participants (I sometimes work with children). For example here is a model of our sleep lab I built! (https://twitter.com/sacairney/status/849972358060421122). Anything that keeps your mind active and creative will help you be a good scientist 🙂
