I try to. That doesn’t mean I’m doing my exact research work every day. But every day I try to at least read a little bit in my area or about what’s going on in psychology, or I try to get a little bit of writing done for a science blog. Something small every day that keeps me connected to psychology and science.

😀 i will not use the word ‘work’ because I do not see it as a ‘work’. I do write and think about science everyday, catch up the new things happen in science (can be biology, psychology, history architecture etc).

I don’t no. I really try to maintain a ‘work/life’ balance so at the weekends I will try and avoid doing anything directly related to my job. I will hang out with friends, play computer games or watch Netflix (or something like that). I used to work everyday, particularly during my PhD (which is a qualification that took me a few years to get). However, I found this made me stressed out and unhappy. As much as I love doing what I do I think it’s important to get down time, and in the end it makes me more productive.

As Alex, I used to work almost every day inclduing the weekends – during my PhD (when I was not working in the bar to pay for my PhD) as well as during the first years of my work after my PhD (as a postdoc; this was to make up for some of the time I “lost” working just to pay my bills). I also realised it makes me unhappy. I am quite strict about not working on weekends, unless I absolutely have to. I do however also travel a lot for my work and attach small trips and extra days to new places where I travel for conferences, and so I feel I maintain balance. I do go to the gym quite often and try to read and go to exhibitions and cool events involving dance, live music etc.
