      Super intriguing question there!

Unfortunately, there just isn’t a medicine for curing dementia right now. The closest scientists have gotten are medicines that can slow down the symptoms so a person doesn’t get worse too fast (like losing memory or being unable to complete tasks). This has actually been a pretty big step and has helped a lot of people! A part of what I do is to make sure people get diagnosed with dementia as early as possible so they can get this medicine as early as possible.

Some of the scientists I know at uni and many across the country have now succeeded at figuring out which exact parts of the brain are being damaged by dementia and how this is happening- right down to seeing what’s happening in the nerve cells of our brain. This is going to be the first step to making a cure because now scientists know exactly which parts of the cells to target and how.

Just for extra help try giving this link a read too if you want!
