I wish I could work with squirrels, but sadly I don’t. This is a question for Pizza I think! 🙂

Animals come with all different physical characteristics and living styles. For example, rats are active in the dark and live mostly underground whereas squirrels are active during day and live on trees, whales and chimps are highly social species whereas tortoises are solidtary species. Now the question is whether these differences in characteristics and living styles make them see and understand the world different from us, human beings?

Squirrels are my very good friends – as a scientist, we love to have a species that is easy to work with and reliable in order to answer scientific questions. Squirrels definitely fit into these two. They are also fun to watch and show their cleverness (cheekiness) in using different ways to solve problems and navigate the world. Finally, they are absolutely adorable! So I really like them :))))
